i hope this makes sense bc I’m still quite sick but something i don’t understand from people who support israels war crimes against palestinian civilians is the argument that it’s only bc israel is doing it. i'd be equally horrified if israeli civilians were the victims of war crimes. i don’t think people deserve horrific abuse just bc i think the actions of their government are abhorrent. i feel for the israeli hostages living and dead and i feel for their families. i feel for any civilian harmed by this sort of stuff no matter their government. the innocent men, women, and children who die in war are not my enemies, and i can’t imagine thinking of innocent human beings as worthy of hurt because they live under a shitty government. i don’t like my own government! i don’t think that’s a crime any random person deserves to pay for. i am extremely critical of the government of israel and their abuses of the palestinian people for many decades, but i don’t think civilians of any nation deserve to pay for the actions of a government they cannot control. that’s horrible. i can’t get thinking like that.
